Goodies.

Tuesday night I had the chance to attend The Women's Conference: Night at the Village. It was the precursor event to the next day's The Women's Conference: The Village. It was a lot of fun. I got a lot of goodies from different businesses such as Lean Cuisine and Wachovia. We also got a lot of food like yogurt, soda, nuts. They had some guest speakers, too. We had the chance to hear Rachel Ray speak. She was interviewed by Valerie Bertinelli, and she seemed very real and down to earth. We also saw Rocco DiSpirito speak. Rachel and Rocco also singed their books along with several other authors such as Jamie Lee Curtis, Dr. Oz, Maria Shriver, and many more. However, the big day was the following day. The guest list included Condoleezza Rice, Jennifer Lopez, Madeleine Albright, Jenny McCarthy and so many more. I wish I could have went to both! Anyway, here are some goodies I picked up...

I got Jacob's car seat! His BIG car seat. I got him the Britax Marathon in Greystone. These seats are usually $280, but Amazon was having a sale on a couple of colors and I got it for $185 minus a $15 rebate = $170. That's a great deal! And I found this lovely deal on one of my favorite blogs, BabyCheapskate.com

Here it is...

Lastly, one of my favorite places to shop is now Etsy.com. I love all the adorable, handmade, cutesy stuff. I have a list of things I want to buy, but I've only bought one thing so far, and I'm truly satisfied. I bought a little, round disc pendant with the letter J (for Jesse and Jacob) and a little heart. And I love it, I think I'll get another one...

Big Day.

So, Monday was a big day! Not only did Jess and I celebrate our very first wedding anniversary, but my poor baby boy got his first set of shots. It was horrible. I felt like it was torture, but I'd rather have him vaccinated than not. He received a total of 6 vaccines. He's been a little grumpy and has had a fever here and there, but we're getting through it. We also got his stats. And it's not really news, but he's a BIG boy! He weighs 14.5 lbs and is 23.5 inches tall. He's only 2 months! The Doc said he's getting to be a chubs. Speaking of his doctor, I do not like her at all. I really wanted his vaccines spread out, but the Doc is against it and follows AAP (American Academy of Pediatrics)...whatever *insert eye roll*. But I don't know how to go about finding another pedi in my area 'cause, right now, our insurance sucks. But that will change in January. Yay!

My little chunky monkey...

And as I mentioned, Jess and I celebrated our anniversary. We went to one of our favorite Mexican restaurants. Well, used to be. The food sucked. Big time. We were so disappointed. But look what I got...

I'm in love...

Our 1st Anniversary.

Exactly one year ago, October 20th, 2007, I married my best friend, and partner, Jesse. Our church wedding was at 3pm with a reception that immediately followed. We had approximately 140 guests, and our colors were pinks with white and chocolate brown accents. I planned it pretty much all by myself. I had my sister as my maid of honor, and my bridesmaids included Jesse's sister, my niece, and my cousin. Jesse's best man was his childhood friend, and groomsmen included my two brothers and my nephew. Everyone says that the first year is the hardest, but honeslty, this has been the best year of my life. Here we are, one year later and as happy as can be with an adorable, little boy. We finally have our little family!

Disconnected.

My Internet service had been out since Friday! I called my ISP and they, of course, gave me the runaround. They told me there was an outage in my area, funny since my sister, who lives a few houses down from me, had service! I knew something else was wrong, luckily I had an old router that belonged to Jess, and I plugged it in, and what do you know, it worked. I've got my Internet back. I was without it for a total of 3 days. I was peeved that my ISP didn't help after I had called a total of 4 times, so I called them back and got a new box and a discount on next month's bill. But I didn't miss anything. I was pretty busy. Friday I went to my niece's football game to see her perform. And guess what I had? My sister and I shared a funnel cake! Nope, they're not only available once a year at the Corn Festival, but at every home game! Woo hoo! Saturday I also went to another field show for my niece. Poor girls, they didn't do so good. They, unfortunately, got 4th place out of 4. But hopefully it will give them motivation to work harder. Sunday was boring, my brother and Chema came over bearing food and gifts. Yup, I had my favorite nachos, and they were sooo good. For dessert I made walnut brownies that we paired with vanilla ice cream. It was delish! And yesterday, Monday, Jess had the day off. We spent most of the day cleaning, and I caught up on my Internet time.

And here's a pic of Baby J to keep you entertained (it's also my wallpaper):

THINGS I WANT:

Let's change the subject. So, the contract on my phone is up and I want a new one. What do I want? A Blackberry Curve in pink! Here it is:

I also want a Flip video camera. I want something compact and affordable, and the Flip meets all of my requirements. I've heard nothing but good things about them. I think I'll ask for it for Christmas. However, I'm not sure whether I want the pink or black, but here's the pink:

A Decade.

Exactly 10 years ago today, October 10th, 1998, Jesse and I became a couple. We met in August of '98 but didn't officially get together for a couple months. We've experienced a lot of ups and downs, but luckily we've shared more ups than downs. Our relationship hit a rough spot around the four year mark, but we recovered. We've never broken up, and have gone strong since. I was only 17 when we met and Jess was 20. I was a senior in high school and Jess was in his 2nd year of the Marine Corp. We were engaged in May of '06, and, in exactly 10 days, we'll be celebrating our very first wedding anniversary. Love ya, babe!

*Side note about this picture: It was taken only a few days before my 18th birthday. On this day, I also got my very first, and only (for now), tattoo.

Whatcha watchin'?

So, now that it's the fall season I have a new lineup. Well, kinda. I'm still watching Jon & Kate + 8 on Monday nights. I still love this show despite the harsh rumors that are out there. I've heard that the kids have started preschool. And I think they may be moving into a new house. Sometimes I also try to catch The Hills and Dancing with the Stars.

My Tuesday nights are devoted to the new 90210. At first I thought I would really hate this show, but since I loved the original I thought I would give this one a chance. And what do you know, I actually like it, but I don't love it. The girls are anorexic-looking and the acting is a bit cheesy, but the drama still keeps me hooked.

And yes, my Wednesday nights are still devoted to....Ghost Hunters. And Jess still makes fun of me for it. I can't help it. I have to watch. I especially love all the ghost related shows that come on around Halloween. I got hooked way back when ABC Family used to show Scariest Places on Earth back in 2000.

Thursdays are saved for Ugly Betty. It's not as good as it used to be, but I still like to watch.

Fridays I don't have anything set to watch, but sometimes I like to watch Most Haunted on the Travel Channel. It's nothing like Ghost Hunters, but I'll watch it if I'm in the mood.

Saturdays I try to catch SNL, but I'm usually in bed by 11p, so I sometimes DVR it. It has been especially good with all the election skits. Love Tina Fey as Sarah Palin!

Freedom...

Okay, not really, but I was able to get out for a little bit this weekend. Saturday my niece Jasmine had a field show. She's in color guard (tall flags) and she had a performance. I went along with my sister to go see her, and I ended up helping out. The team is mostly made up of new girls, and there's only seven of them, but they did a great job! I was especially proud since Jasmine is following in my footsteps. I was in color guard in high school and I did it for 3 years. I was even captain! I loved it and had a great time. Anywho, I have some pics to share, but unfortunately, the day was gloomy...

Waiting to go in...

In the middle of a twirl...

Doing her thing...

Today, Sunday, nothing really happened. I went out for a little shopping but I didn't buy anything. I wanted to shop for myself, but I wasn't in the mood. I'd rather buy for Jacob, however he didn't really need anything. Other than that our evening was low key, and my week looks to be the same. I do have some big things to look forward to in the next couple of weeks. Jess and I will be celebrating our 10th year together as well as our 1st year of marriage. And of course Halloween is coming up and it's Jacob's first. And because I think he's just so darn cute (I am his mother!), some pics of my little monkey...
