BIG things...

are happening for Jacob. A couple of weeks ago we gave him a little trim. We cut a couple of inches of hair from the left and right sides of his head. He looks so much older. And, as I mentioned previously, Jacob was starting to get his first tooth, well 2 weeks later, and he has both bottom teeth in. Lately, he's been really itchy up top. AND! He's learning to crawl. I have a video to share. This was only his second day of crawling, but now that he's been into it for a few more days, he's gotten much better. Jacob also likes the swing. We broke out my niece and nephew's old swing and he liked it, so we got him a new one. I'm so glad we have a built in swing set.

Pearly whites and spiffy haircut... Holding on tight... Daddy and cousin Jasmine took Jacob on his new swing with mismatched jacket and trendy sunglasses... Doing a military crawl to get to his most favorite thing...

Projects...

Within the last few weeks I've completed some projects, or refurbishments. The first was a wrought iron mirror.

I bought this mirror for $35 on Craigslist, my new best friend. It originally came to me in a metal/silver finish. All I did was take a can of black spray paint to it and tah dah! It's my new mirror.

My next project was a set of lamps. These lamps belonged to my parents and they are probably over 40 years old. I cleaned the crystal with glass cleaner, recovered the shade, and painted the brass. The total cost of 2 lamps: $9! I may use them for our bedroom nightstands, but I'm not sure.

This past weekend I bought an entry table. Also purchased through Craigslist. It still had the price tag on it. Original price was $69.99, I paid $18. So, it wasn't exactly the color I needed, I took out my trusty black spray can, and tah dah!

I still have several other little projects I need to complete, but I really enjoy refurbishing things. It's great stress relief for me. I think I found a new hobby.

It's not so simple...

So, as Jacob's six month birthday came and went, Jess and I decided we would try for another little one when Jacob turned one. Well, this maybe a little harder than the first time around. With Jacob, I got pregnant my first cycle off the pill. However, currently, I don't have a period and I haven't had one for about 3 months. So, I decided to see a doctor. We did the usual lady visit, and he gave me progesterone to see if it would jump start my period. We'll see how things go in a few months, but I'm a little worried. He said there are many reasons and causes for it to stop, but in my case it's probably related to weight gain. Now I have to start eating right and working out. I think I may start documenting it here, so I can be accountable. I've never wanted my period so bad before.

If that's not stressful enough, I've been working hard on my portfolio. I can see a glimpse of light at the end of the tunnel. I can finally say I am almost finished. I probably need to write a total of 5 papers, with at least 4 to 5 pages each. Not bad.

Anywho, wish me luck. I'm a little stressed at the moment, but I hope things start looking up within the next couple of months.

Jacob's 7th month...

Our little guy turned 7 months today. And his first tooth is coming in! Yup, it's a comin'. Last Sunday Jacob was really cranky, I thought it may have been because he needed more sleep or wasn't getting enough food, but now I believe his tooth was breaking through. He's also rollin' around everywhere, and he's starting to get his butt up. Unfortunately, he's moving backwards on his tummy instead of forward. He's sitting on his own like a big boy now. He's been doing it for a couple of weeks and is becoming a little pro.

Jacob has a couple of favorite toys at the moment. Number one is his jumper. No surprise there. Number two is his glow worm. He gets a big grin out of him every morning. Jacob's also growing quite fond of Mickey. I can't wait 'til we take our first trip to Disneyland.

I've had it...

with the octo-mom. Seriously, I thought if I ignored her, she'd go away, but that is definitely not the case. Apparently she's moving to my city. Yup, to my quiet little community. And it's not like she's on the other side of town, which would make it a little better, no, she's barely a 3 minute car ride away. Ever since they released the news that she was moving here, there have been helicopters hovering. It sucks. I feel especially bad for her new neighbors. Anyway, I hope this circus dies down soon, but probably not since she'll need money for at least the next eighteen years. Poor kids.

Jacob's 6 months stats...

Last week we went to Jacob's 6 month well-baby checkup. He had a couple of shots and, again, took them like a champ. He let out a cry and was easily comforted by mommy and daddy. And no fevers! So what are Jacob's stats? Well, he's weighing in at around 20 pounds, 14 ounces (around 90%), and is approximately 27.5 (around 70%) inches tall. The doctor said he's a big boy but he looks good all around, not too chubby, not too skinny, and kind of tall. Yay!

We also received Jacob's 6 month pictures. Not too many to choose from, but I have some photos to share...
