Shoo fly...

Don't bother me! We have been dealing with a fly infestation for the last 2 days! Yes, 2 days of flies everywhere. Okay, not everywhere, but man, it feels like it. It's really disgusting. And we have no idea where they are coming from, but I'm tired of it. However, I think they're dying off. I hope they are completely out of here by tomorrow, but I doubt that will happen. We've sprayed around and luckily the spray has been killing them off pretty rapidly. It sucks 'cause we're relatively clean people. We don't leave food laying around so I'm at a loss as to where these things are coming from. I have to go through the apartment every few hours with my fly swatter. It's really driving me nuts!

So, summer is finally here! The weather has been really nice in the high 80s. Sunday Jacob and I took a drive down with my sis and her fam, and my mom, to Malibu. We went to pick up my nephew from camp. We also went to lunch at Louise's Trattoria. This place used to be my favorite for Italian food, but it was pretty bad this last time. Total bummer. And we've been outdoors a lot more. Jacob doesn't like the feel of grass on his feet. But I have to admit, the grass we have is thick and rough. The other day we were out there and he was pulling out grass, and trying to eat it. Well, he was moving fast with his hands and he actually got a blade in his mouth. I had to go in and fish it out. Yuck.

Finally!

We have our wedding video! After more than a year and a half, we received our video last week. All it took was a couple of threats with the spread of bad word-of-mouth, and the possibility of taking him to court. I've watched the highlights, and so far so good. I've yet to watch the ceremony and the raw footage. If I knew how to edit the video, I'd post a snippet of the DVD on here, but I'm not that technologically advanced. So, here are pictures of the DVD, hehe.

Father's Day '09

Happy father's day to all the poppas out there! Hope they had a nice day. Jess started his father's day with a hangover! Saturday we went to a cousin's 30th birthday, and we both drank...a lot. Actually, Jess more than me. It was fun...until the end. Yuck. Anywho, our father's day was spent at my sister's house, as per usual. We had family over along with a BBQ and swimming. It was a beautiful day, perfect for nursing a hangover. Jacob and I got Jess a card, and we made him a picture collage.

On a side note, Jacob has been pulling up more and more and he finally realized he could stand up in the playpen. And on Friday he started walking the perimeter of the playpen. I was so proud!

Collages for Daddy. I gave him both 'cause I couldn't pick one.

10 months...

Jacob is now just 2 months away from his 1st birthday! Ugh, I can't believe it. He's such a toddler now. No more baby. Now that he's 10 months, he's eating more table foods. I would say he has at least one meal of table food a day. Breakfast is either waffles, oatmeal, or yogurt and fruit. Lunch and snack is usually a baby food puree and sometimes, depending on what's for dinner, it's table food. Jacob is still doing his military crawl, but I'm positive it's only because we have wood floors and he slips and slides. When he's on carpet, he tries to crawl on all fours. He also started to pull himself up a few weeks ago, and he gets better and better at it everyday. And since he's standing more, I decided to get him a walker. At first he wasn't sure what to do with it, but after the third try he knew exactly what to do. It's funny 'cause he likes to walk really fast, then lift his legs up so he can glide! It's hilarious! Jacob recently had his first jump in a party jumper. He didn't hate it, but he didn't love it either. He can talk, too! Kind of. He says mama, and he associates it with me. He understands some words like mas, which in Spanish means more. He also knows the phrase "come on" and "let's go." And Jacob loves to scrunch his face up and smile. I love it! He's a little man. I've already started to plan his 1st birthday which may turn into a big bash. Ack, I can't wait...Well, maybe I can, I don't want him to grow up! So, I've been slacking on my blog. I've not been in the mood to blog lately. I've been somewhat busy, and there's always something going on. I've also had some personal stuff to deal with, but I'll talk about it more a little later when I'm ready. But other than that, summer always brings a little chaos.

A weekend of new things...

We had a busy weekend, and they're just going to get busier now that party season has arrived (aka summer). Our Sunday was spent at a christening for a cousin, and she looked adorable in her beautiful gown. The day was perfect, and lucky for us, Jacob was on his best behavior. He did let out a couple of screams during mass, but nothing obvious since there were a ton of kids at the baptism.

Saturday was spent at the South Coast Repertoire. My nephew is taking acting classes, and he had an exhibition performance to conclude his first year. He did really well. The play was called Faces in the Crowd. It was set in a mall with a mother looking for her daughter who went to meet up with a friend, and during her search we get a glimpse into the conversations of teenagers in the mall. My nephew played a girl chaser. His lines were classic. So funny.

Finally, we've got some new toys for Jacob. We got a Leap Frog table and a push buggy. He's not into the table at all. He plays with it for like a few seconds and then moves on, but that's how he is with most of his toys. But the buggy, he loves. Jacob loves to be outside. I think if it were up to him, he'd be outside all day. He gets excited when he sees his stroller. I foresee the same happening with the buggy. He's a little small for it, but he doesn't care. He just likes to sit and chill as we push him around.
