Ice cream, cake, and lollipops...

For the last couple of weeks, Jacob has really been getting into these two commercials. I don't know if you've seen or heard of them but one is for Baskin-Robbins, and it shows a bunch of their cakes with the toppers dancing to this song called "Ice Cream and Cake." The other one is for Dell and it shows a factory of workers making "candy" laptops, and the song they play is "Lollipop." Well, whenever these songs come on, Jacob stops what he's doing, looks for the TV, and starts clapping, tries snapping his fingers, and tries to dance. Oh, and for the "Lollipop" song he tries to do the pop with his tongue! It's not only the cutest thing, but it's so funny! He also does this for some other commercials and for some songs too, like BEP's "I Got a Feeling." Another thing that Jacob does is try to play Mario Cart. I don't know if it's him watching me, my niece, my nephew, or all of us, but when he gets the steering wheel in his hands, it looks like he's driving. The first time we saw him do this we could not stop laughing. He looked like he was playing the game. It was so funny! Anywho, luckily we've caught most of it on camera...

Monday Memories: My Bridal Shower

So, it's crazy to think that 2 years ago, almost to the date, my mom and my sister were throwing my bridal shower. And a few months after that I would be married (and a few months after that I would be pregnant, ack!). It was an all girl party and a ton of fun. But I do remember it being HOT! In more ways than one, hehe ;0)

Me and my sister. She'd KILL me if she knew I posted this...

Decor. Pink and brown...

Table set up with game cards stuffed in the napkins and the favors placed on top...

Favors were pocket mirrors. (I just took these pix with my BB. And yes, I still have the favor, new in box!)...
Front

Back

Lingerie that guests got to take home at the end of the night (it was all new, BTW!)...

Dessert table. Everything was TDF, especially the chocolate fountain. Yummm...

Tacky cake my cousin got me. It was NASTY!

Looking back, I wish I had taken more pictures, but at least I have quite a few good ones. Ahhh, the memories...Time flies!

Jacob's 1st Year Stats

Jacob had his 12 month wellness check-up last Friday, but with all the crazy commotion I forgot to add the info into my last post. Jacob is now weighing in at 24 pounds (65%) and is 30.75" tall (74%). He also had two shots and took those like a champ. A quick wail and he was done. He's now on whole milk and only one bottle before bed, and is on a majority of table foods. He hasn't found a table food he dislikes, yet. He sleeps from 8pm to about 7am and naps once for about 1.5 hours each day. He LOVES to be outside. He knows the sound of his little blue car, and when he hears it coming he gets all excited and starts clapping. He knows he's going somewhere. Same for the actual car. As soon as he sees his car seat, he knows he's going somewhere. He knows where his eyes are and if you say "eyes" he does this funny blink thing, and he tries to snap his fingers. Jacob has 8 teeth and the doctor said his molars are getting ready to come in. Oy!

Also, to celebrate Jacob's actual 1st birthday, we took him to the Rainforest Cafe and for a walk through Downtown Disney. He loved the Cafe. He got really quiet when the storms hit, but was curious about everything! He just kept pointing and saying, "Wsat" (what's that). I couldn't keep up with him. The waiters also did their birthday song deal, and he got a bowl full of vanilla ice cream. He loved it!

Jacob's Mod Monkey Party...

We celebrated Jacob's birthday last Saturday, and we could not have asked for a more perfect day. The weather was gorgeous and, despite it being a pool party, not many kids went swimming. I'm kind of glad 'cause it would have been crazy. We had our signature taco guy, and the food was good, too bad I didn't get to enjoy it. And the cake was not only cute, but delish. Unfortunately, with all of the running around, I didn't get to enjoy the party at all. But I know Jacob did and that's all that matters. The theme of his party was mod monkey, and I got tons of compliments on the party decor, goody bags, and cake. I had adults asking for goody bags and table centerpieces! A lot of time and thought went into this party and many thanks to my lovely family for helping me through the last couple of weeks. And here are the pix...

Happy 1st Birthday, Jacob!

Today is Jacob's big day! I cannot believe it is finally here. A year ago today, at 10:41pm, my baby boy was born. Awww, the memories. And I can't be grateful enough to have been able to share everyday of his 1st year with him. Here's to another year with my baby boy and the chance to see him grow and learn everyday.

"Before you were conceived, I wanted you. Before you were born, I loved you. Before you were a minute old, I would have died for you. This is the miracle of life. " - Maureen Hawkins

I love you, monkey!

Jacob's 1st Haircut...

Jacob had his very 1st legit (his little trim months ago doesn't count) haircut today! He did so well. We took him to this place called Cool Cuts 4 Kids. They have seats in the shape of different vehicles and video/TV monitors at each station. Jacob sat in a taxi cab and the hairdresser put on an Elmo video for him. He likes Elmo, however not as much as Yo Gabba Gabba. Yes, he loves Yo Gabba Gabba. Weird show, but that's for another post. Anywho, he was doing well at first, but then towards the middle he started squirming so I let the hairdresser give him a lollipop. His 1st, too. He loved it, but after a few sticky, slimy minutes I took it away. He threw a fit, but Jacob let the hairdresser continue on with her work. Here's my little man...
