Memorial Weekend Wrap-up

I had a nice low key weekend. It started Friday when we went to Disneyland. Actually, California Adventure to be exact. I'd hoped there would be less people, and there probably was but it was still busy. We rode on a few rides, went to see a show, had some snacks, and picked up dinner on the way home. It was quick fun. Saturday was boring. Jacob went golfing with the hubs, and Bella and I stood home. She "helped" me make a cake. I also helped my sis redo her bathroom on a budget. Monday we had a nice BBQ and a little pool time. It was a really nice weekend. I did NOT want it to end!

Jacob's Dentist Visit

Last week Jacob had his biannual dentist check up, and we got some bad news. Despite being exceptionally good throughout the appointment, it turns out Jacob has two, yes 2! Cavities! Ugh. I guess we were not doing a very good job brushing his teeth. But we've been trying to brush longer, harder, and with more toothpaste. He'll be getting those teeth fixed in a few weeks. We'll see how that goes. Apparently, because he's very good in the chair there is no need for sedation. I hope not :( and he was super excited to get a brand new Lighting McQueen toothbrush and stickers. He's such a sweetie pie!

Desk Organization

My poor little "office." It's been neglected. It's always neglected. I rarely use my desk. Probably because there's no room to do anything on it. Oh, but no more. I spent my weekend cleaning it up/out. The thing is, the majority of the stuff on it was trash. It looks so nice now. I bought that cork board a few years ago and I tuned half of it into a chalkboard with some cardboard. I also threw that monogram frame together in no time at all. I finally feel like we have an office.

{YUM!} Nutella pops

Summer is just around the corner! Can you feel the heat? It's starting to warm up over here and with that, and a big jar of Nutella, we needed something to cool us off. So I made some pops. Super easy to make, and I eyeballed the recipe. This recipe makes about 5 pops.

You'll need:
1/2 cup of nutella
1 cup of milk (any kind you have on hand)

In a medium bowl, whisk together Nutella and milk until combined. Pour into pop molds and freeze for at least 4-5 hours.

That's it! They are delicious and kid approved!

Happy Mother's Day!

Once again, I'm late! But I do hope all the mommas out there had a fab weekend! I did. My niece took the kids for a sleepover and I had the chance to sleep in. It was weird. It was so quiet. This year we celebrated mom's day at my brother's house. He whipped up a nice meal for us. It was sooo good. It was nice to just hang out. And the hubs got me a nice hydrangea bunch, and Jacob made me a cute little card/ornament at school. Jacob and I actually celebrated mom's day a few days before. They had a muffins with mom thingy at his school. We were invited to hear the kids sing and have juice and muffins. It was cute! I loved it all.

I know I've been slacking on the blogging, but I've been busy party planning! I have my niece's graduation and the kids' birthdays coming up. I cannot believe summer will be here so soon, we've also been planning our summer. I'm looking forward to it!

{BOOKS} Fifty Shades Trilogy

I had been reading up a storm the last couple of weeks. And I finally finished the Fifty Shades of Grey Trilogy. And I did a small review on the first book here, but now I've finished all of them. So, let me say that I was hooked! The first book is not that great. The writing, and the stuff James wrote about, specifically Anastasia's subconscious, was a joke. She just didn't need that, and that part of the story got better with the other books. The writing of the last 2 books wasn't as bad (or I was thoroughly entranced) and the story got much better. I read the last 2 books back to back cause I could NOT stop reading them. And now I'm left with a sadness and like something is missing :( I need to find another series to read. I'm already on the search for something to read, but taking a small break to get back to my kids and husband. So, if you want something to read and you have nothing to do, then read this trilogy. It will get on your nerves a little, but you will be able to look beyond it. Oh, my fifty shades...

This is me...
