Let's talk TV...

Actually, more specifically, let's talk Jon & Kate + 8, aka All About Kate. Seriously, this used to be one of my favorite shows. I would eagerly await Monday nights but things have changed, and it started when they moved into their new house. The show seems to revolve less around the kids and more around Kate. Last Monday's (2/23) show irked me to no end. The whole episode seemed to be Kate whining about dogs. I mean really? She didn't realize how much work, on top of 8 kids, two new puppies would be??? I don't see the show lasting much longer, and if it does I'd be surprised. In the beginning they had a more relatable story that mothers, and people in general, could relate to, but as of late, this is no more. The dynamic of the show has changed. Will I still watch it? Probably, but definitely not with the same eagerness and anticipation as I once had.

On another note, I've been really busy. We had Jacob's 6 month pics last weekend and should have the CD by next week. Hopefully we have something to share since he was not very peachy. I'll share his 6 month stats, too. He's also been sleeping less and that means more mommy and me time. Tons of fun but a lot of work. And I've joined a local MOMS club. So far the ladies have been super sweet and really supportive. I'm glad I decided to join. The only down fall is that alot of the kids are older and the majority of the moms have at least two kids. We've been to a few events, but I've yet to participate in a Mom's Night Out. They sound like a blast.

I've been uber-busy working on my portfolio too. I'm a bit behind, but it just means that March is going to be crazy. My goal is to turn it in during the first week of April. Yup, I see a snippet of light at the end of the tunnel.

Jacob is 6 months old.

Yup, it's his half birthday. And I still feel like I just had him. We've got a lot of things to look forward to within the next couple of weeks like a wellness baby check-up and official 6 month pics. He's such a big boy. I can see his personality already. He's shy around strangers and very vocal with me and his dad. He has a bit of a temper and hates when people take things away from him. I've started to let him roll around on the floor more and he loves this new freedom. So how did Jacob spend his half birthday? Just chillin' at home in his favorite new toy. His jumper! And Jacob's grandpa is too cute. He got Jacob a cake, and we sang half of the birthday song. We were going to use half a candle but decided against it.

He loves it...

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!

Hope everyone had a love filled day with an SO or special friends. Our valentine's day was low key. Jess came home with these...

Two bouquets and a beautiful orchid. Jess calls the orchid our love fern (from How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days)...

And we made chicken cordon bleu (Yup, Chema, we did it!) and it was really delicious. Chicken breast stuffed with prosciutto and swiss cheese served with a green salad topped with almonds. I'm very proud of us...

Jumpin' Jacob.

Jacob's got a new toy. A jumper! And he absolutely loves it. I thought he would since he was trying to use his saucer as a jumper. I felt bad. He was trying to jump in his saucer and nothing would happen and he would get frustrated. I've got a video to share too. I laughed so hard when I first put Jacob in his jumper. He went crazy. In this video he goes crazy jumping, then he stops, makes a serious face, and then starts jumping again. It was hilarious! I recorded the video using my new Flip video camera. I like it, so far.

Why...

Why do bad things happen to good people? For the last couple of months, maybe more, I've witnessed and heard about so many tragic things from accidental deaths to severe illnesses, from people aged 80 to babies not even out of the womb. I've cried more in the last few months than I have in the last year. So, tonight before you go to bed, say a little prayer and give your loved ones a little squeeze. And remember, don't take each day for granted because you never know what tomorrow may bring.

Toes!

Jacob has found his toes! Last Thursday my niece was playing with him when she sat him down and he started playing with his toes. He started out with socks and ended up barefoot. It was really cute to see him just stare and grab them. I could tell he really wanted to put them in his mouth which was evident by a big pool of drool. Now, whenever he sits down, he goes straight for them, luckily they haven't ended up in his mouth...yet! He's also started doing raspberries. It's funny to see a spray of drool shoot out of nowhere! Not so funny when I'm trying to feed him green beans and end up covered in them. Yuck! Okay, he's started to do another thing. He has a fake cough. At first it was cute, but now I'm starting to get a little worried. He does it quite a bit now and I have no idea why. At first I thought he did it 'cause whenever he coughs laying down we sit him up and he likes sitting up, but he does it even when he's upright. We'll see if it stops soon. We're also less than two weeks away from Jacob's half birthday. My baby's growin' so fast!

Intrigued...

Our weekend was pretty boring. Saturday my niece had a Winter Guard competition. Her group performed to Duffy's Warwick Avenue (I think that's what the song was called!). They did really well and were robbed! They should have, at the very least, gotten third place, if that. Unfortunately, they did not place :0(

Sunday we just hung out at home. Jess watched the game and I did nothing. Visit my sister for a bit. Oh, and I've been trying to get school work done. I'm really a horrible procrastinator. It's really what I do best, and I can't afford it this semester. I've started my portfolio, but I'm nervous about it. I have this fear that I'm not going to pass, it's the same anxious feeling I used to get before an exam. I hate it. But if all goes as planned, I will graduate in May! Yay! Unfortunately, if I decide to walk I have to go up north to my school. I really want to wear my hood, and my friends and family are all a go. We shall see.
