For about a week now, Jacob has been cutting 3 teeth. His two front teeth and one on the side. He was a little cranky last week, and has been a little better this week, but you can see them coming in, one by one. Poor thing. Now that he has more teeth, we've started on more table foods and snacks. His favorite snacks are veggie puffs and yogurt melts. And when it comes to crawling, he's still utilizing the military crawl, but he's trying to get on all fours more and more. But he can get around really fast with that military crawl, I dunno if he'll ever make it to all fours. He's also just realized that he can pull himself up. Ugh, I can't handle my baby growing up. That means walking is just around the corner.
This weekend we celebrated Memorial Day. We had a very low-key weekend. We did absolutely nothing. My sister made dinner for us, Jesse went golfing one day, and I mostly hung out at home organizing stuff and just hanging out. It was also a beautiful weekend. And with the help from a fellow blogger, I got some tips for shooting with my camera, and took some test shots.

Jacob's 9 month stats...
We went to the doctor's today for Jacob's 9 month check-up. He's 29.5" tall (83%) and he's weighing in at 22.8 pounds (76%). Pretty close to our guesstimate from last week. And I have to say, Jacob's such a good boy! He got one shot today and he let out one loud wail, and that was it! But then we had to get blood drawn, and as soon as I heard that, I began to get nervous. But it was all for nothing! Jacob let the lab nurse take blood without a hitch. The nurse couldn't find a vein in his arm, so he pricked his finger and had to do it the slow way. Jacob let him do it! So, for about 5 minutes, he sat on Jesse's lap with the nurse squeezing his little finger. No muss, no fuss! To top it all off, we even went to dinner after, and he was perfect! I could not have asked for a better day!

We're back...
What a weekend! San Jose was a lot of fun. Jacob did exceptionally well except for the fact that he got his first diaper rash...ever. Poor thing. We got in kind of late Friday night, but got to sleep in a little Saturday morning before the ceremony. It was really warm up there and I practically melted in my regalia. But the ceremony was short and sweet. Jacob slept through it all and Jesse lost his phone, luckily someone found it and returned it. After that we went to PF Changs for dinner. Our food was yummy! Later that evening we headed into San Fran for Ghirardelli Square and some ice cream, and I bought some cupcakes. We got up early Sunday morning and headed out. We stopped in Solvang to buy some Danish cookies, and ate at this place called Pea Soup Andersen's. Everyone enjoyed their meal except for me and Jess. Oh, and our welcome home gift was a nice little earthquake! That sucked. But I still had a fab time! Oh, and because of the lack of communication, I broke my lovely graduation wine glass I was given after the ceremony. Boo.
I have a couple of pictures to share. The photographer (aka my niece Jasmine) didn't get many stable shots during the ceremony. They're pretty much ALL blurry.

3 months 'til the big 1!
Jacob is 9 months today! That means only 3 more months 'til the big ONE! His 9 month wellness check up isn't until May 22nd, so I'm going to guesstimate his stats. I weighed him on our home scale and I got 20 pounds. He has really thinned out with his constant moving and crawling. I measured his height to be 30 inches, and he's in size 18 clothing now. We'll see in a few weeks how close, or far, I am to these measurements. I've already started to look into his first birthday party. I've found the theme, and it's for sure going to be a pool party. I'll start to get into it more in a month or two.
Finally, we're going on our first...ROAD TRIP! We're heading up to San Jose for my graduation! It's about 6 hours away, and I'm kind of nervous for Jacob. I have no idea what to expect, but hopefully he does okay. I'll recap when we return.
You can kind of see Jacob's 3 teeth in this pic, and he's getting two more in...

My First Mother's Day...
It was a fab day! Happy mother's day to all the mommies out there! Hope you all had a special day. I was able to sleep in 'til about 10 am today, and it was grrreat. The rest of the day was spent at my sister's house. The men (my dad and bro-in-law) BBQed for us moms, and we had some family over. It was also warm enough to take Jacob for his first official dip in the pool, and they heated the pool for us. Jacob LOVED it! I'm not surprised since he loves bath time too. We had fun in pool!
What more could I ask for...
Well, I got some awesome gifts. Jess (and Jacob) gave me a sweet card and flowers. My BIL also got me some pretty flowers, and my nice and nephew made me cards. My sister, and her family, also gave me the Twilight book set! And one of my brothers gave me the Tiffany lock pendant for mother's day/graduation. All in all, it was an awesome first mother's day.

Flashback Friday: Prom
Exactly 10 years ago this month, May '99, I attended my senior prom with Jesse. We'd been together about 7 months. I was 18, and he was 21 and going back and forth to San Diego since he was still in the Marines. I bought my dress downtown, I did my own makeup, and me and my mom did my hair. I came up with the idea for it and she helped me achieve the look. The second picture is from winter formal in February of '99. I did my own hair and got my dress from a store in the mall. I wish I still looked that good, and Jess had such a baby face. I love the nostalgia...
